The Textile Chamber of Commerce held an anti-dumping investigation and coordination meeting for Indian viscose synthetic yarn

On the afternoon of January 20, 2020, the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textiles organized an anti-dumping coordination meeting for Indian viscose synthetic spun yarn in Beijing. The meeting was chaired by Director Wang Dongxiao of the Legal Department of the Chamber of Commerce, and Vice President Wang Yu of the Chamber of Commerce attended the meeting. On January 14, 2020, the Directorate-General of Trade Remedies of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India initiated an anti-dumping investigation on Viscose rayon spun yarn (VSY) imported from China, Indonesia and Vietnam. This case involves a total of 55101110, 55101210, 55101190, 55101290, 55109010 and 55109090, a total of 6 Indian customs tariff numbers. The anti-dumping investigation period is from April 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019 (9 months), and the damage investigation period is from April 2016 to March 2017, April 2017 to March 2018, 2018 April 2010 to March 2019 and the dumping investigation period. According to China Customs data from April 2019 to November 2019, China’s exports from Indonesia were USD 36.149 million.　　 At the meeting, Vice Chairman Wang Yu introduced the initiation of trade remedy cases by India in recent years, the outstanding characteristics of India's trade remedy cases and the experience of the Ministry of Law in dealing with trade remedy cases. Chairman Wang emphasized that only by actively responding to the lawsuit can a company express its position to the Indian side, thereby fighting for real benefits for the company itself and the entire industry. At the same time, by participating in the case response, the company can discover its own problems, strengthen the rectification of internal problems, and promote the healthy operation of the company. In the free exchange session, business representatives mainly expressed their opinions on the Indian market’s demand for the products involved in the case and the domestic industry situation in India.
