Pakistan hosiery manufacturers and exporters association ( PHMA) Called on the government to cancel tariffs on imports of cotton yarn. Previously, PHMA suggest import raw cotton from India. It is understood that cotton prices rose sharply against the value-added apparel industry. According to the PHMA President anwar ( Khurram Anwar Khawaja) , the prime minister announced on January 10, 2017 textile package of incentives, including from January 16, 2017 to cancel tariffs on imports of cotton yarn and the sales tax, but has yet to implement this step. According to a Pakistani newspaper, anwar called on the government to cancel the additional regulation of cotton yarn, because import cotton yarn should be free from any place.
