Pakistan's cotton yarn export prices rise

by:Chengyi     2021-03-15
In the past week, domestic cotton yarn prices in Pakistan have continued to fall, in line with domestic and foreign cotton and polyester staple prices. In contrast, due to the increase in Chinese demand driven by the China-Pakistan Free Trade Agreement, the quotations of Pakistani yarn exports have risen. During the week, 30 carded yarns in Pakistan fell by 1.48%, and the cumulative drop was 4.32% in the past four weeks. The overall domestic yarn demand is weak, and the transaction is quite low. At the same time, driven by strong import demand from China and Europe, the export price of Pakistani yarn has risen. Chinese buyers have a lot of demand for spot shipments before the Spring Festival. The second phase protocol of the China-Pakistan Free Trade Agreement will come into effect on January 1, 2020. By then, Pakistani textiles and clothing (including cotton yarn) will enjoy zero tariffs when exported to China. Affected by this, the export price of Pakistani yarn has risen by 2-3% in the past week. Pakistan's domestic cotton prices remain sluggish. Due to the shortage of domestic high-grade cotton supply, spinning mills are not interested in purchasing domestic cotton, and they are all focused on imported cotton. The Karachi spot price index fell to Rs 8,900/Maud. Article Keywords: Pakistan Cotton Yarn Cotton Export Price China Overseas Textile
