Buyers disappeared, Pakistan's yarn sales plummeted

by:Chengyi     2021-03-15
Pakistan’s largest yarn market in Faisanabad is experiencing a proven lack of business. This is due to the decline in textile exports and delayed energy interruptions. With the closure of many textile manufacturing units, yarn sales have dropped by 80%. The trader said.
A yarn trader, Akram Pasha, said: 'Traders are forced to export yarn because buyers from the domestic market disappear. As the supply of natural gas is interrupted, textile factories are closed, and a large number of rupees Stuck in the market.'
Pasha added that yarn demand has fallen because orders in the textile and weaving industry have stopped and cash transactions have been delayed due to the closure of industrial units.
Kamal Afteb, President of Pakistan Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association, said: 'The yarn market provides raw materials for power weaving, textile weaving factories, knitting units and other manufacturing units. It stops 5 per week. Tian’s natural gas supply triggered the closure of the factory.'
Aftebo expressed concern that cotton and yarn exports may cause a shortage of domestic value-added industries in the coming months, which may seriously affect the performance of the textile industry.
Many industries, especially spinning and weaving factories, are the main purchasing units for cotton and yarn. Among these units, power woven fabrics are facing severe cutbacks due to the interruption of natural gas supply, insufficient power supply, and low orders from textile exporters.
The owners of the weaving factory are worried that their production costs may rise due to frequent increase in electricity bills and severe restrictions on electricity use.
Tahir Mahmoud, president of the Pakistan Yarn Wholesalers Association, said: 'This has almost destroyed the yarn market, but the export of yarn provides a partial cushion for traders.'
Yarn prices mainly depend on the spinning demand in the export market and the domestic market. As prices in the domestic market have fallen, prices have stabilized as yarns are exported to the international market, Tahir Mahmoud said.
Although the domestic market is not healthy, the price of yarn in the international market is still high. Yarn exporters said that in order to encourage demand for Pakistan’s cotton and yarn in the international market, farmers and ginners should be trained on quality improvement, grades, packaging, labeling and storage. Improving the quality of raw cotton can not only reduce production costs and waste, but also ensure that spinning mills produce high-grade cotton yarn, thereby helping to increase export revenue.
