Seeing New Opportunities for Textile Enterprises to Aid Xinjiang from the Quiet Rise of Tens of Million Spindles of Xinjiang Yarn

by:Chengyi     2021-03-15
An estimation report issued by the People’s Government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region to the Ministry of Finance shows that at present, the cotton yarn produced in Xinjiang is 3,600 yuan cheaper per ton than coastal areas and 4,600 yuan cheaper than Vietnam... It is not difficult to carefully examine the distribution of advantages in my country’s cotton yarn market. Discovery: traditional inland yarns; imported low-end yarns and Xinjiang yarns that are 'rising against the trend' are already 'three pillars.' Xinjiang is becoming the region with the highest investment enthusiasm in the textile industry. Previously, my country imported a large amount of foreign cotton yarn, which was more of the demand for structural adjustment of the domestic textile industry. For China's cotton spinning industry, after years of rapid development, various manufacturing costs have begun to remain high, and structural adjustment is imperative. Improving the added value of products and eliminating outdated production capacity has become a top priority. The cotton yarn products of India and Pakistan just cater to the gap in the low-end market. With the influx of foreign cotton yarns and the rising prices of domestic cotton, domestic textile enterprises' investment in Xinjiang has quietly become a hot spot. With the support of national policies, a large number of cotton textile projects took root in Xinjiang in 2014. Many leading mainland cotton textile companies such as Huafu Mélange, Tianhong Textile, Henan Xinye, etc. have invested in Xinjiang to build factories, and the speed has exceeded expectations. Relevant statistics show that the cotton spinning production capacity has reached 12 million spindles at the end of 2015. With the total demand unchanged, Xinjiang's huge cotton textile production capacity has had a major impact on the domestic cotton yarn market. Since 2016, Xinjiang's cotton yarn production capacity has begun to be released significantly, and it has emerged as a new force in its comparative advantages with inland yarns and imported yarns. It has seized market share in all aspects and has strong competitiveness in various fields of low, medium and high count yarns. Nowadays, the newly launched spinning project in Xinjiang has advanced technical equipment and complete product grades. Tens of thousands of Xinjiang yarns are becoming the backbone of resisting the impact of foreign cotton yarns. Xinjiang, as the main cotton producing area in my country, cotton resources account for more than 60% of the national output, and an industrial system dominated by cotton spinning and viscose fiber has initially formed. The advantages of cotton resources, land resources, energy resources, and local industrial assistance actions have laid a solid foundation for Xinjiang to develop the textile and garment industry. The textile and garment industry is becoming a key pillar industry that drives Xinjiang's employment. Inspired by a series of policies promulgated by the state and autonomous regions, Xinjiang's textile and garment industry continues to exert its strength and the scale of investment continues to expand. According to statistics, in 2016, Xinjiang's textile and garment industry invested 47.97 billion yuan in fixed assets, a year-on-year increase of 50.9%; the number of textile and garment enterprises reached 1964, an increase of 504 from the end of 2015. Other data show that since 2014, Xinjiang's textile and garment industry has invested a total of 89.37 billion yuan in fixed assets, exceeding the total investment in the previous 35 years. Such a geographical advantage and the huge potential of the core area of u200bu200bthe 'Silk Road Economic Belt' and the important window of opening to the west, Xinjiang will have a lot to do in accelerating industrial matching, improving the industrial system, and expanding the employment effect. It is expected that by 2020, Xinjiang will basically build an important national cotton spinning industry base, a clothing and apparel production base in the northwestern region and the core area of u200bu200bthe Silk Road Economic Belt, and a westward export distribution center. The textile industry is my country’s traditional pillar industry, an important civilian production industry and an industry that creates new international advantages. It is an industry that combines technology and fashion, clothing consumption and industrial use. Responsible investment in the textile industry reflects the harmonious development relationship between industry development, society and ecology, and is an investment based on sustainable development. The opportunities contained in this hot land of Xinjiang must be given to enterprises with responsibilities and innovative ideas. Industrial assistance to Xinjiang is different from previous assistance to Xinjiang, and is positioned to serve Xinjiang's strategic development and create advantageous industries to a greater extent. Because the development of Xinjiang's textile industry is affected by the strategic adjustment of China's economy in a specific period, it has a special trajectory. In the process of undertaking the transfer of the eastern and central textile industries, it should combine its own unique advantages to form its own label. Excluding regional and national characteristics, green manufacturing and responsible development will undoubtedly become the brand-new shining point of Xinjiang Manufacturing. For this reason, the textile industry assistance to Xinjiang should seize the 'bull nose' of Xinjiang's economic development, rely on Xinjiang's cotton resources, seize strategic opportunities, and build a beautiful brand that can reflect Xinjiang's characteristics.
