Indonesia initiates investigation of safeguard measures against imported yarns

On September 20, 2019, the WTO Safeguard Measures Committee issued a notice on safeguard measures submitted to it by the Indonesian delegation. On September 18, 2019, at the request of the Indonesian Textile Association, the Indonesian Safeguards Committee initiated a safeguard investigation on imported synthetic fiber yarns and staple fiber yarns (except sewing threads) (Yarn (otherthan Sewing Thread) of Synthethic and Artificial Staple Fibres). The Indonesian tax numbers of the products involved are 5509.22.00, 5509.32.00, 5509.51.00, 5509.53.00, 5510.12.00, 5510.90.00.　　Stakeholders shall register their response in paper and electronic versions within 15 days from the date of filing the case. The hearing is scheduled to be held at 10-12 am on September 30, 2019. Stakeholders participating in the hearing should submit relevant evidence documents before September 26, 2019.
